Today’s Revolution: Marcos Love of Country

What love could be far greater than love of country?

Love is the most powerful creative force that makes all dreams, hopes, and aspirations possible. It is the driving force behind every successful revolution and nation-building. All great leaders from nation-builders to statesmen possess this. Love of country is a leader’s obsessive capacity for greatness fueled by a clear vision and singular purpose.

We, the Youth, are heirs to that promising vision of greatness. We are the gift of the future sustained by love of country.

It was this kind of love behind Bongbong Marcos’ relentless efforts to pursue peace, unity, and progress. This was manifested in his countless economic modernization programs and projects aimed at optimizing our capacity and opportunities for development. This love of country produced the kind of leader Bongbong Marcos has become. It is a continuing legacy that lives through his two decades of inspired and competent leadership in both legislative and executive capacities. It was this love of country that motivated his father the late Ferdinand Marcos, Sr. then. It is that same love that drives Bongbong Marcos now.

Right now, love of country appears to have gone down the drain. Thirty years since EDSA has produced a deeply cynical, divided, and polarized society. People are increasingly losing their faith in the system. Nobody seems to trust government institutions anymore. It is disturbingly incomprehensible why today’s leadership culture has become so numb and insensitive to the cries of OFWs, wage earners, taxpayers, the youth, commuters, and victims of calamities? Under the present conditions, a potent mix of self-vested interests, indifference, and incompetence has become the norm.

Bongbong Marcos’ love of country is the sum of our shared vision and purpose for a better future.
